About this site
L'Ilot lies just off the coast of Mahe Island near Glacis, in the western Indian Ocean, part of a stretch of small granite outcrops and islets reached by short boat rides from Mahe's coastal towns. It is a beginner site with a light current and a maximum depth of about 16.5 metres, making it an easy dive for most of its extent. Divers have reported eagle rays passing through the site, and boat traffic in the area has been noted as something to watch for near the surface.
