About this site
Malpelo Island sits in the eastern Pacific, roughly 500 kilometres off the Colombian mainland, and forms part of a remote national park protecting a small volcanic outcrop and its surrounding waters. Dive sites around the island are only reachable by liveaboard due to the distance from shore. La Pared Del Naufrago lies along this same rugged coastline of steep rock walls dropping into open ocean. Divers here have reported black-nosed butterflyfish, blue-and-gold snapper, Galapagos graysby, king angelfish, and hump and shoulderblade corals along the wall.
