Bajo Del Ancla lies off Malpelo Island, a remote volcanic outcrop in the eastern Pacific well off the Colombian mainland, protected as part of Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. Sites around the island are reached only by liveaboard after an open ocean crossing of a day or more from the Colombian coast.
