Lana'i Lookout

Lana'i Lookout sits along the southeast coast of Oahu near Hanauma Bay, on the stretch of shoreline between Hawaii Kai and Sandy Beach known for its lava rock coastline overlooking the channel toward Lanai and Molokini. Entry is typically made from the rocky shore below the scenic pullouts along Kalanianaole Highway. The site is shallow, with a maximum depth of around 7 metres, but it is rated an advanced dive, reflecting the difficulty of the rocky shore entry and exit rather than depth. The lava terrain here supports cauliflower and hump coral, and divers have reported dusky surgeonfish, Hawaiian convict surgeonfish, Hawaiian spotted tobies, Pacific orange-spine unicornfish, redlip parrotfish, saddle wrasse, and thin-shelled rock crabs among the rocks.
