Le Bananier lies off Port-Vendres, a small fishing and ferry harbor near the Mediterranean coast of the Pyrenees-Orientales department in southern France, close to the Spanish border. The site sits within the coastal waters off Cap Béar, an area known for its rocky headlands along the Vermilion Coast. Divers here have reported red mullet and Thor's scaldfish along the site.
