About this site
Cabilao Island sits off the northwest coast of Bohol in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines, and Lighthouse 1 takes its name from the lighthouse marking the island's tip. The site is rated a beginner dive, making it accessible to most visitors passing through the Cabilao Marine Sanctuary area. Divers have reported a wide range of macro life here, including ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, leaf scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, octopus, and pygmy seahorses, alongside sightings of eagle rays and sea turtles passing over the reef. It is reached by boat from the small coastal barangays that serve the island's dive operators.
