About this site

Lighthouse is a shore dive at the northern edge of Dahab, on the Sinai coast of the Red Sea in Egypt, close to the town's lagoon and the Blue Hole further up the coast. It is a popular entry point for dive schools, with a shallow sandy bay giving way to a fringing reef and wall that reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres. Current is light and the site is rated a beginner dive over a reef bottom, though divers should keep an eye on surfers at the surface near the entry point. The reef holds frogfish, grouper, lionfish, napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, octopus, parrotfish, scorpionfish, seahorses, stonefish, and unicornfish, and divers have also reported clownfish, crocodilefish, cuttlefish, dolphins, eagle rays, ghost pipefish, moray eels, pufferfish, sea turtles, surgeonfish, tuna, whale sharks, and other wrasse species here.
