About this site
Lighthouse Reef sits in Subic Bay off Olongapo, on the western coast of Luzon in an area long associated with the former US naval base and now developed as a freeport and tourism zone. The site is reached by a short boat ride from the town's waterfront, in a bay that also shelters several wrecks left from decades of military and shipping activity. It is a reef dive to around 20 metres, rated beginner, with light current and good visibility. Divers have reported cuttlefish, frogfish, mandarinfish, mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, and seahorses here, along with occasional strong currents.
