About this site
Punta Loma sits on the Golfo Nuevo near Puerto Madryn, on the Peninsula Valdes coastline of Chubut Province in Patagonian Argentina. The site is known on the surface for its sea lion colony (loberia), and diving here takes place along this stretch of the gulf's rocky shoreline. It is a shallow site, with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers here have also reported South American sea lions in the water, adding an underwater dimension to the colony visible from shore.
