Lock 24 lies along the Rideau Canal system in eastern Ontario, part of the historic waterway connecting Ottawa to Kingston, in the Rideau Lakes region of southeastern Ontario. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 21 metres and is rated an advanced dive due to strong current. Divers have also reported disorienting structure and heavy weed coverage adding to the challenge, along with strong currents throughout the site.
