Wee Hawk lies in the Thousand Islands area of the St. Lawrence River, in eastern Ontario near the New York border, a stretch of river known for freshwater wreck diving amid its channels and islands. This particular site is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 6.7 metres. Visibility can be poor, and divers have noted that the bottom silts up easily if disturbed, so care is needed with fin placement. Penetration of any wreck structure at the site is not recommended without proper preparation.
