About this site
Los Molinos lies along the Costa Tropical near Almunecar, on the Granada province coastline of Andalusia in southern Spain. This stretch of the Mediterranean shore is known for its rocky coves and small dive centers operating out of Almunecar and nearby La Herradura. The site is a reef dive rated advanced, which sets it apart from some of the more sheltered entry points along this coast. Divers here have reported black scorpionfish, ringneck blennies, and both Mediterranean rainbow wrasse and ornate wrasse moving around the rocky reef structure, along with mauve stinger jellyfish drifting through the water column. Smaller finds such as cratena slugs and Mediterranean violet aeolids have also been spotted among the reef life at this site.
