About this site
Mae Haad Bay sits on the northwest side of Koh Tao, an island off Surat Thani province on Thailand's Gulf coast. The bay is also the location of the pier connecting Koh Tao to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, and it faces toward the small islet of Koh Nang Yuan just offshore. As a dive site it stays shallow, with a maximum depth of around 8 metres, and is rated a beginner site.
