About this site
Mantis Reef sits on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef system off far north Queensland, in a remote area northeast of the Cape York Peninsula. Reefs in this stretch of the outer barrier are reached mainly by liveaboard vessels running extended itineraries out of Cairns or Lizard Island, given the distance from the mainland coast.
