About this site
The Northern Small Detached Reef sits in the far northern section of the Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, well away from the more heavily visited reefs further south. This part of the reef system is remote and mainly accessed by liveaboard vessels running far northern itineraries rather than day boats out of Cairns or Port Douglas.
