About this site
Maroma Shallow lies off Punta Maroma on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, north of Playa del Carmen along the Yucatan Peninsula. Dive boats serving this stretch of coast typically launch from Playa del Carmen or nearby marinas to reach the reef systems that run parallel to the shoreline here. The site tops out at around 12 metres and is generally rated an intermediate dive. Divers have also reported pufferfish along the reef here.
