About this site
Marsa Egla lies along Egypt's Red Sea coast, south of Marsa Alam, over a reef bottom. It is a shallow site, with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, and is considered a beginner-friendly dive. Dugongs are found here, making it one of the more notable sites along this stretch of coast for that reason alone. Divers have also reported clownfish, moray eels, napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, octopus, parrotfish, and stonefish on the reef.
