About this site
The Million Hope is a large cargo ship that ran aground on the reef near Ras Nasrani, Sharm el Sheikh, in the Sinai in the 1990s. It lies on its side, with part of the hull breaking the surface and the rest descending along the reef slope, and the site is generally rated an intermediate dive to a maximum depth of around 24 metres. The wreck is encrusted with growth and holds batfish and lionfish, with divers also reporting barracuda, grouper, hammerhead sharks, nudibranchs, scorpionfish, snapper, and trevally around the structure. Conditions can be affected by rough seas and swell, so sea state is worth checking before diving it.
