Montana

The Montana lies off Sandys, Bermuda, on the reef system northwest of the main island where several historic wrecks sit scattered across the reef platform. The vessel was a paddle-wheel steamer, a blockade runner from the American Civil War era that struck the reef and sank in the 1860s, and its paddle wheel frames and boiler are still recognisable amid the coral growth. The wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an advanced dive, sitting on a wreck bottom rather than the shallow shelf some of Bermuda's other reef wrecks occupy. Divers have also reported octopus, parrotfish, and wrasse around the structure. The site remains exposed to open ocean swell, which can affect conditions on any given day.
