About this site
Naka Hirase (中平瀬) is a boat dive at Hozaura in Minamiise on the Kii Peninsula coast of Mie, ten minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 24 m. A raft is moored over the site so the entry method can be chosen, and because it is enclosed by hills it is usually calm and little affected by wind or waves. It is a no-fishing zone with the densest fish life of the Hozaura sites; in summer barracuda, jacks and chicken grunt school, and the scattered artificial reef blocks hold life all year. Suitable from beginner level.
