About this site
Ogase (大ヶ瀬) is a pinnacle boat dive in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture, with an average depth of around 10 m, suitable from beginner level, with current at times. A short swim brings large parrotfish and emperors, and table coral colonies hold schools of golden sweepers, silver-stripe round herring and other tropical fish, with sawedged perch, trumpetfish, amberjack and yellowtail also seen. Flying fish and sometimes dolphins are seen from the boat on the way out.
