About this site
Ogden Point sits at the edge of Victoria's harbour on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, where a breakwater extends into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The site is a well known shore dive built around the breakwater's rock wall, which drops to a sandy bottom and is popular with local divers and training courses thanks to easy access from the adjacent parking area and dive shops. Divers commonly encounter Pacific Northwest invertebrates along the wall, including anemones, nudibranchs, and rockfish sheltering among the rocks. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making it approachable even with the tidal and weather-driven shifts in visibility and current typical of the Strait.
