About this site
Pinnacles lies off the western coast of Zanzibar, in the channel waters near Stone Town on Tanzania's Indian Ocean coast. As the name suggests, the site centers on rock formations rising from the seabed rather than a flat reef, with a rocky bottom reaching a maximum depth of around 26 metres. It's rated an advanced dive, and divers have reported strong currents running through the pinnacles. Batfish, grouper, lobster, sea turtles, and trevally have all been spotted around the formations.
