About this site
Pixie Wall lies within the Great Barrier Reef system off the coast of far north Queensland, in the general area seaward of Cooktown and Lizard Island. This part of the outer reef is typically accessed by liveaboard dive vessels running multi-day itineraries along the ribbon reefs, and the coordinates place it on the reef edge where the continental shelf drops toward the Coral Sea. The site tops out at a maximum depth of around 10 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making the shallow wall a manageable stop within these ribbon reef itineraries.
