About this site

Punta Carrion sits on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos archipelago, off Ecuador's Pacific coast, near the channel that separates Santa Cruz from Baltra Island. Dive boats operating out of the Puerto Ayora area commonly use this stretch of coastline as a site within reach of the central islands. It's a beginner dive to around 18 metres with no current, making it an easy entry point for divers exploring the central islands. Batfish and eagle rays are common here, and divers have also reported hammerhead sharks, marble rays, octopus, reef sharks, and sea turtles at the site.
