Punta De La Mona

Punta de la Mona is a rocky headland on the Costa Tropical near Almunecar, in Granada province on the Andalusian coast of southern Spain, marking a stretch of coastline between La Herradura and Almunecar where the shoreline turns rocky and steep. The site is a wall dive reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres, rated as a beginner dive despite the strong current that runs through the area. Entry can be over rocky ground, and the bottom is known to drop away quickly not far from shore. Grouper are a regular sighting on the wall, and divers have also reported barracuda, octopus, nudibranchs, and even ocean sunfish passing through.
