About this site
Rayner's Rock lies off Dayang Island, part of a small archipelago near Mersing on the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia, within the South China Sea. Dayang Island sits close to Aur Island and is reached by boat from the Mersing jetty on the Johor coast. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported strong currents here, along with sightings of barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, trevally, Napoleon wrasse, manta rays, and even whale sharks.
