Ricks Reef lies along the Sinai coastline near Dahab, a town on the Gulf of Aqaba known for its shore-accessible reef sites strung along the coast road. This stretch of coast is characterized by fringing reef that drops off close to shore, typical of the Dahab diving area. The site has a reef bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 16 metres, making it a beginner dive.
