About this site
Rock Gate (ロックゲート) is a boat site at Tanabe on the Kii Peninsula of Wakayama, with depths of 10 to 27 m. A long, narrow channel lined with soft coral combines terrain and macro, with crustaceans such as harlequin shrimp and other small shrimp, and occasional longtooth grouper and Asian sheepshead wrasse. The site is suitable from beginner level.
