Rudder Reef sits on the outer Great Barrier Reef off Port Douglas in tropical north Queensland, one of several reef systems in this stretch of the Coral Sea reached by day boats out of the Port Douglas marina. The reef lies within the Agincourt group of ribbon reefs, an area popular for its coral bommies and clear offshore water.
