About this site
Sachwa Abu Galawa lies in the Red Sea off Qesm Hurghada, in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate, among the offshore reef formations reached by boat from Hurghada's marinas. The site sits within the cluster of reefs scattered across this stretch of coastline south of the Giftun Islands, with a reef bottom reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres. Divers have reported frogfish, grouper, scorpionfish, and stonefish tucked among the coral here, making it worth a careful, close look at the reef structure itself.
