Sandy's Plateau lies along the Jan Thiel coastline on the south side of Curacao, a stretch of shoreline known for easy shore-entry reef diving. Curacao's leeward coast here is lined with a fringing reef that slopes toward deeper water, typical of the shore-accessible sites around Jan Thiel and Caracasbaai.
