About this site

Sangat Gunboat lies off Sangat Island in the Calamian Islands near Coron, northern Palawan. It reaches a maximum depth of around 28 metres, sits over reef, and is rated a beginner dive with light current. Dugongs are a confirmed presence at the site, while divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, clownfish, grouper, octopus, parrotfish, seahorses, snapper, trevally, triggerfish, tuna, manta rays, and even whale sharks. The wider waters around Sangat are best known for their scattered Japanese wartime wrecks, and operators based on the island run boat trips out to this and other nearby sites in Coron Bay.
