About this site
The Okikawa Maru lies in Coron Bay, part of the cluster of World War II Japanese wrecks off Busuanga Island in the Philippines. It reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, with strong current to account for over a wreck bottom. Coron's wrecks were part of a Japanese supply fleet sunk by American air raids in 1944, and this ship rests in the same general waters as the others in that group. Divers have reported batfish, grouper, lionfish, and snapper around the structure.
