About this site
Tangat Island lies near Sangat and Coron in northern Palawan, an area of the Philippines known for its cluster of Japanese wreck sites from the Second World War, sunk during a 1944 American air raid. The coral reef here sits within that same stretch of water off the Calamian Islands, reached by boat from Coron town. It is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 25 metres, making it a gentler option in a region better known for its deeper wreck diving.
