About this site

Seghe sits on Vangunu Island in the Marovo Lagoon area of Western Province, Solomon Islands, a region tied closely to World War Two era air and naval activity in the Pacific theatre. The site takes its name from a Lockheed P-38 Lightning associated with the area near the old Seghe airstrip. Access is generally by boat from the small settlement of Seghe itself, a common jumping off point for exploring the wider Marovo Lagoon.
