About this site
Seraya Secret lies along the Seraya coastline in northeast Bali, an area better known for its black sand slopes and muck diving than for reef structure, near the other well-known black sand sites around Tulamben and Seraya and typically accessed by short boat trips or shore entries from the nearby beach. The site sits on a sand bottom with light current and good visibility, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres, and is rated an intermediate dive. It is known for macro life, with frogfish, ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, mimic octopus, nudibranch, octopus, scorpionfish, and seahorses all present. Divers have also reported angelfish, garden eels, grouper, hairy frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, rhinopias, stonefish, sweetlips, and triggerfish here. The silty bottom means good buoyancy control matters to keep visibility clear and avoid disturbing the small creatures that draw divers to the site.
