About this site
Shark Bank sits in the channel off Bel Ombre on Mahé, Seychelles, a granite pinnacle rising from deeper water over a reef bottom. It reaches a maximum depth of around 27 metres and is rated an advanced dive, largely due to the current that sweeps across the rock and the depth of the surrounding water. Eagle rays and whale sharks are confirmed here, drawn in by the current along with the fish life the site is known for. Divers have also reported barracuda, fusiliers, grouper, nurse sharks, octopus, and snapper around the pinnacle, though sightings vary with conditions. Visibility can shift with the current, and the site suits those with some experience rather than a first open water dive.
