Shimba Wall

Shimba Wall lies off Pemba Island, part of the Zanzibar Archipelago in Tanzania, in the channel waters of the western Indian Ocean known for their steep coral drop-offs. Pemba's coastline is fringed by a narrow shelf that gives way quickly to deep water, which is why wall diving is common around the island. This particular wall tops out at around 18 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making it an accessible introduction to the drop-off diving the island is known for. Nudibranchs are a common find along the wall, and divers have also reported angelfish, leaf scorpionfish, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and wrasse on the site.
