About this site
Shiraho (白保) is a reef site off Shiraho on Ishigaki Island in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, dived at depths of 10 to 20 m. It is a winter site for north winds, from October to April, and the dive follows the drop-off outside the reef, which suits topography enthusiasts; pyramid butterflyfish, sea turtles and whitetip reef sharks are seen. The well-known blue coral is viewed by snorkelling from Shiraho beach rather than on the dive.
