About this site

Simons Reef lies off Gili Meno, one of the three small islands off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. The Gili Islands sit within the Lombok Strait, a channel known for its currents between Bali and Lombok, and dive sites around Gili Meno are typically reached by short boat rides from the island itself or from Gili Air and Gili Trawangan. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres over a reef bottom and is rated an advanced dive. Garden eels, harlequin shrimp, nudibranchs and reef sharks are regular sightings here, and divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, cuttlefish, damselfish, eagle rays, frogfish, ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, mimic octopus, pygmy seahorses, sea turtles, stingrays, sweetlips, trevally and tuna on the reef.
