Batu Belah

Batu Belah lies off the coast within Nusa Tenggara Barat province, in the waters near Lombok in Indonesia's Lesser Sunda chain, part of the Coral Triangle where volcanic island coastlines drop into the Lombok Strait and surrounding channels. It is a drift site over a sand bottom, reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres and rated a beginner dive with generally light current, though divers have also reported stretches running 4 to 6 knots along with downwellings, limited exits, and sharp volcanic rock to watch for. Ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, and snapper are common here, and divers have also reported barracuda, frogfish, fusiliers, leaf scorpionfish, manta rays, mantis shrimp, mimic octopus, mola mola, octopus, scorpionfish, stonefish, trevally, and tuna on the site.
