The Sugar Ship Wreck lies off Perhentian Kecil, one of the two Perhentian Islands in the South China Sea off the coast of Terengganu, Malaysia. This area of northeastern Peninsular Malaysia is known for its granite islands and surrounding reefs, reached by boat from the mainland jetty towns of Kuala Besut.
