About this site
Sunfish Rock sits off Inishbonfin Island in Galway, where Atlantic swells meet dramatic underwater cliffs. Schools of pollock and wrasse dart through kelp forests, while lucky divers spot ocean sunfish near the surface. The site offers thrilling drift dives along steep walls, with visibility often exceeding 15 meters. Cold but rich waters attract seals and occasional basking sharks. Best dived in calm summer conditions when currents moderate.
