About this site

Tanjung Butong is a point on the coast of Perhentian Kecil, one of the two main islands in the Perhentian group off the state of Terengganu on Malaysia's northeast coast. The waters here sit within the Perhentian Islands Marine Park in the South China Sea, reached by boat from the island's dive operators. The site has a rocky bottom and tops out at around 12 metres, making it a beginner dive. Divers have reported bumphead parrotfish, pipefish, seahorses, trevally, and triggerfish along the rocks here.
