About this site
Tanjung Mawali is a point along the Lembeh Strait, the narrow channel separating the northeastern tip of Sulawesi from Lembeh Island in Indonesia. This stretch of coast is reached by small boat from the fishing town of Bitung and nearby dive resorts that line the strait. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported grouper, pipefish, squid, and triggerfish here, and the open sea side of the rocky point can bring rougher water than the sheltered side of the strait.
