About this site
Tanomo (タノモ) is a boat dive at Mikiura in Owase on the Kii Peninsula coast of Mie, about thirty minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 40 m and an average around 20 m. Opened in 2003, the site has boulders sloping gently to 12 m before dropping sharply to a white sand floor at 40 m. It became known in 2003 for a tornado-like school of yellowtail. Current at times, advanced divers only.
