About this site
Mikisaki Todaishita (三木崎灯台下) is a boat dive below the Mikisaki lighthouse at Mikiura in Owase on the Kii Peninsula coast of Mie, about thirty minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 20 m. Large boulders slope gently to 20 m and then step down further, and the dive is usually run as a drift south along the 20 m line. In summer schools of yellowstriped butterfish and jacks stream past continuously, pelagic fish come through, and juvenile hammerhead sharks are often seen at the surface in autumn. Current at times, advanced divers only.
