About this site

Tanote Bay is a bay on the eastern side of Koh Tao, an island off Surat Thani province in the Gulf of Thailand. It is one of the few east coast bays on the island reachable by road as well as by boat, with rocky headlands framing the sandy cove. The reef here tops out around 20 metres and is rated a beginner dive over a reef bottom. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, clownfish, damselfish, frogfish, parrotfish, pipefish and triggerfish around the site, and some have noted damselfish getting territorial near a sunken object, so it pays to keep a respectful distance.
