The Tegnue di Chioggia area lies off the coast near Venezia, in the northern Adriatic Sea, where patches of naturally cemented sandstone outcrops rise from an otherwise sandy, muddy seabed. The Tegnue "G.S Monselice" site takes its name from this rocky formation system, named after a local diving group associated with it. These formations sit off the Veneto coastline south of Venice, in an area known for its shallow Adriatic shelf.
